.NAME Domain Names

Launched in 2001, the .NAME universal domain name extension is the single TLD planned for personal web pages only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are known by. Initially, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you desired to purchase john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and second-level registrations were also allowed. Already registered 3rd-level domain names remained functional.

Through our company, you can order your dot NAME domain for an interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to change the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you get its EPP transfer key from the current registration provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. There are no specific restrictions on who can register a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the objective behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration may be challenged.

The .NAME universal top-level extension is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no added cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the correct spelling in your native language.
